(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council has tentatively approved a 4.5 percent pay increase for most city employees in 2013.

The increase came during a special budget committee meeting on Monday. The 2013 budget has not yet been finalized. The proposed raise would mean a two percent cost of living raise, and then a 2.5 percent raise for most employees on their anniversary date.

City administrator Jeff Fuchs says Jamestown budget discussions will continue Thursday, Sept. 6 with a 3:30 p.m. budget hearing at City Hall. The City Council also has its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 5 p.m.

The Stutsman County Commission is holding a budget hearing Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 2:30 p.m. before their regular monthly meeting.

The Commission is scheduled to hear from the State’s Attorney’s Office, the County Highway Department, the Law Enforcement Center and the Sheriff’s Office regarding their 2013 budgets.
