(NewsDakota.com) The Griggs Barnes County football team is off to a 0-1 start this season, but they are ready for the Cardinals of Carrington on Friday night (August 31st). It will also be the GBC Titan football homecoming game, tailgating will start at 5:00p in Cooperstown.
Last Friday night (August 24th) the Titans were in Buffalo, North Dakota to play Maple-Valley/Enderlin. GBC fell 18-13. They were down 12-0 at the end of the 1st half, but made a strong comeback in the 3rd quarter after an interception by MV/Enderlin. 4th down for the Titans with 10:25 left in the 3rd quarter, GBC goes for it but Daniel Lindgren of the MV/Enderlin Falcons intercepted it and went all the way for the touchdown, making it 18-0.
The Titans scored the next two times, it was the Timmy Erker to Jacoby Kramlich connection, making it 18-7 with eight minutes left in the 3rd. Scoring again with 5:58 remaining, Wyatt Steckler ran it in for a 10 yard touchdown run. Wyatt Steckler was the player of the game with 195 yards rushing, 1 touchdown and averaged 6.5 yards per carry. QB Timmy Erker was 4 of 12 for 90 yards. Wide Receiver Jacoby Kramlich had 3 receptions for 80 yards and 1 touchdown.
GBC and Carrington will kick off at 7:00p, pregame at 6:30p on both AM 1600 KDAK in Carrington, and FM 103.1 the Raven in Jamestown.
