(NewsDakota.com)  Here are the minutes from Carrington City Hall. 

The Carrington Fire Department reported 3 accidents at the end of July and beginning of August.  The accidents were out of city limits and 2 out of 3 were on Highway 281.  The Fire Department also wants to close off first street  from City Hall to the Fire Department for fire school on September 21st-22nd.

The city is in preliminary talks about raising the ceiling of advertising construction contracts from 18k to 50k.  Right now anything construction wise under 18k does not need to be advertised on bids, the city wants to raise this limit to 50k because the cost of machinery and workers has increased and it doesn’t take much to get to 18k.  The State of North Dakota has a 100k limit.

Carrington residents should be able to make online water payments shortly.

Stutsman County rural water wants to purchase additional water from Carrington, currently under review.

Bulk commercial sanitation customers can expect some adjustments on their August bills.  There are 30-40 commercials dumpsters in the Carrington area.  Some bills may go up, some may go down.  Waste Management keeps track if a dumpster is overflowing at a commercial location, that business will get an increase on their bill.  Residential dumpsters are not tracked.

On October 4th there will be a defensive driving course offered at the County Courthouse from 6p-10p.  October 5th it will be at City Hall from 8:30a-12:30p.

A motion went through to advertise for bids to extend a sewer line from the south side to the north side of the pasta plant road. 

A motion went through to advertise for bids to extend a waterline from the east side of the airport to the west side.  There is a new hangar on the west side of the airport that needs water.

Global Connect is up and running as of August 6th.  Global Connect is an emergency notification system that sends emergency messages to registered cellphone users.  Carrington has a handful of residents registered so far. 

The outdoor warning system at Lake Juanita is far from being completed, the system will have to be solar powered and is still in progress.

And last but not least, on August 13th, it was our Mayors birthday!! Happy late Birthday Mayor Don Frye.
