CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on the million renovation of the Valley City water treatment plant.

Dalrymple says the project was of statewide interest to many concerned over how higher sulfate levels would be treated with more Devils Lake water coming down the Sheyenne river.
State Water Commission engineer Todd Sando says it was a much needed project to bring relief to the minds of many worried about increased flows of Devils Lake water affecting this and other downstream communities.
Water Treatment Plant supervisor Wade Hesch says the timing of the renovation couldn’t have come at a better time being the plant was due for an upgrade.
Meanwhile local and state officials participated in the Sheyenne River Valley tour sponsored by the North Dakota Water Education Foundation.
The tour group attended the dedication of the Valley City water treatment plant and visited Bald Hill Dam, The U-S Fish Hatchery, Valley City State Universities Prairie Water’s Research Center near Kathryn before wrapping up the tour with a presentation by Barnes County Water Resource District Board member Pat Hurley at Clausen Springs Dam.
