(NewsDakota.com) – About 90 percent of car seats are not used correctly according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
That’s one of the reasons the NDHP is hosting a free car seat checkup Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Walmart parking lot, says Rhonda Saxberg, administrative assistant with the NDHP.
People can receive instruction on their car seat from certified child passenger safety technicians during the check up Monday. Each checkup will last between 20 and 30 minutes. People should bring the car seat instructions, the vehicle owner’s manual and if possible, the child that uses the car seat.
Saxberg says they try to do a few different free checkup events each year in Jamestown.
