Mass of Christian Burial for Aldean Klein, 82, Fingal, ND, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Holy Trinity Church in Fingal.  Father John Aerts will officiate and burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.  He died at Mercy Hospital in Valley City, ND on August 4, 2012.

            Visitation will be at the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel in Valley City on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at which time a prayer service will be held.  Visitation will continue an hour prior to the service in the church on Wednesday.

            Aldean Leo Klein was born on July 19, 1930 in Morris, MN, the son of Martin and Mella (Bergstresser) Klein.  He was raised near Hankinson, ND where he attended Greendale School through the 8th grade.  In 1948, he graduated from Morris Ag School in Morris, MN.  Following his graduation, Al worked in Minneapolis, MN.  He was drafted into the US Army and served from 1951-1953, during the Korean Conflict.  Upon his discharge, he returned to Minneapolis, where he worked in a machine shop.

            On January 23, 1960, Al was united in marriage to Edith Langemo.  They lived in Detroit, MI for a short time before moving to Los Angeles, CA.  Al and Edie lived there for seven years, he worked as a machinist.  In 1967, they moved to Fingal, ND and lived on Edie’s family farm.  They farmed together for many years, retiring in 2007.

            He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fingal and the Eagles Aerie 2192 in Valley City.  Al served on the Norma Township board for many years.  He never turned down the opportunity for a chance to visit and have a cup of coffee.

            Al is survived by his wife, Edie; daughters, Josie (Richard) Gilbery, Moorhead, MN, Carrie (Rick) Rosenkilde, Bothell, WA, and Marie (Randy) Johnson, Bloomington, MN; grandchildren, David, Kathryn, and Anna Gilbery and Kurt and Alex Johnson; brother, Eugene Klein, Hankinson, ND; sister, LaVonne Klein, Sioux Falls, SD; and several nieces and nephews.

            He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
