CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–The Valley City Extreme 16-U fastpitch softball team is playing for survival after taking a loss Thursday at the Northern National tournament in Madison, WI.

The St. Johns Wild Bunch of St. Louis, MO defeated Valley City 9-1 yesterday, handing Valley City their third loss, their first of bracketed play after an 0-2 pool play start.  The Wild Bunch scored five runs in the sixth to put the game away after a close run through five innings.

Valley City had first pitch at 8:00 a.m. Friday morning against a team yet to be determined as of yesterday’s report.
