N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Badly needed rain came to some areas of parched North Dakota last week, but it wasn’t widespread, and many areas are still in bad need of precipitation for crops and livestock.
In its weekly crop, livestock and weather report, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said Monday that 33 percent of barley, 14 percent of Durum wheat, 26 percent of spring wheat and 37 percent of oats have been harvested.
Pasture and range conditions were 38 poor or very poor, 38 fair and 24 good or excellent. The USDA says temperatures were above normal across the state. Precipitation was above normal in central parts of the state. It was below normal in much of the rest of the state.
