CITY, N.D. It was a beautiful day across the region Sunday, but a few scattered thunderstorms hit some areas of eastern North Dakota.

Pea to marble size hail hit Valley City Sunday night and a bolt of lightening struck a city electrical utility causing it to smoke and generate a small fire. Valley City fire crews were called and quickly put the fire out. No injuries were reported.
