(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes Post 36 American Legion baseball team currently sits at 1-3 in Section 2 play, and now has their biggest week of the season this week as they play four Section 2 games; thankfully all at home.

The first of the four at Cummings Field is Monday evening when Lisbon Post 7 pays a visit. Lisbon defeated Oakes 7-1 at Sandager Park back on June 4. Simon Maddock took the loss for Post 36, despite throwing for six innings, and striking out seven batters.  However, four of Post 7?s runs were scored with two outs.

On Tuesday, Post 36 hosts Wishek Post 87; a team that has yet to win a game against their Section 2 opponents. Oakes and Wishek will play two games that count in the standings, as Oakes is not heading to Wishek until the start of the Section 2 playoffs which are held in Wishek this year.

The week ends on Thursday, when Ellendale Post 137 makes a visit. It will be the first time each team plays one another this season; the next time will be in Ellendale on July 6.

First pitch Monday night between Oakes and Lisbon is set for 7:30.
