CITY (NewsDakota.com) A revision to the statewide bullying policy was made at the request of the Valley City School district.

Superintendent Dean Koppelman says counselors noticed that the policy read all staff members must report incidents of bullying.

But Koppelman says counselors told him that that may lead to a problem with confidentiality. So through the efforts of the school district attorney Gary Thune, a new amendment was issued statewide in North Dakota.

School Counselors will still have to disclose any child abuse or neglect incidents. For more information on the five page bullying policy go to the school district website www.valley-city.k12.nd.us/index/policies
