(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes American Legion Post 36 baseball team took to the field for the first time Thursday night, but fell hard on the road to Enderlin 13-3 in six innings.
Enderlin started the game up 3-0, and Post 36 came back to tie the game early on. In the fifth inning, Enderlin added another three and then another seven in the bottom of the sixth to seal the deal.
Chris Tyre took the loss for Post 36, going five innings giving up eight runs, while striking out five batters and walking six. Cody Voegeli came on in relief and gave up the other five runs.
The next Post 36 game is set for Monday at 7:30 in Lisbon. Simon Maddock will start on the mound for Oakes.
