funeral service for Inez Peterson, 87, Valley City, ND will be  7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Epworth United Methodist Church, Valley City.  Burial will be in Memory Gardens, near Valley City.  She died May 30, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family while under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.          

Visitation will be at Epworth, beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday and will continue until the time of the service.          

Margaret Inez Marler was born in Iowa on June 23, 1924 to James and Margaret (Zaun) Marler.  As an infant, she moved with her family to the Rogers/Dazey, ND area, where she grew up and attended school.        

On October 21, 1946, she married Reynold Peterson.  In 1950, they moved to Valley City, ND where she worked at a variety of stores.  Rey and Inez bought the Hi-Way Grocery Store where they both worked for many years.  He died January 25, 2008.          

Inez is survived by her sons, Jim (Diane), Ron (LeeAnn), and Gary (Jennifer) all of Valley City; her daughter, Gloria Lowe of Hopkins, MN; grandchildren, Lisa (Aaron) Beyer and Jessica Peterson of Valley City, Greg Lowe (Casey Gieseke) of Minnetonka, MN and Kevin Lowe of Ashville, NC; step-grandchildren, Suzy (Jay) Heise of Valley City and Steven (Barbara) Busche of Jamestown, ND; great grandchildren, Braedon, Brooks, and Colton Beyer and Alexa Lowe; step-great grandchildren, Shaun (Jennaca) Salberg, Justin (Keri) Heise, Jordan Heise, and Erik Busche; a step great great granddaughter, Kennedy; brothers, Dallas (Nancy) Marler of Missoula, MT and Allen (Betty) Marler of Rogers, ND; a sister, Marcyne Pederson of Valley City.  She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Lowell Peterson of Milwaukee, WI and Dale Peterson of Breckenridge, MN; a sister-in-law, Lucille “Bunny” Mohr of Inver Grove Heights, MN; and several nieces and nephews.          

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother, Eugene.
