CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–The Hi-Liner golf team will try to make another trip to the state meet during the East Region golf meet at Edgewood Golf Course in Fargo Wednesday.

The team placed fifth in the state meet last year, and was sixth this year during the Eastern Dakota Conference (EDC)-Western Dakota Association (WDA) crossover in Wahpeton.  Valley City finished tied for third in the last full EDC meet of the regular season.  

A top-six team finish will send the team to state.  The Hi-Liners finished in the top six at all EDC meets but one this season.  Three Hi-Liners have already qualified for the state meet as individuals, including Nick Jenson, Ben Sorenson, and Jared Lentz.

Tomorrow’s tee times start with Lentz on the front nine and Michael Peterson on the back nine at 9:08 a.m.  At 9:40 a.m., Sorenson starts on the front and Dustin Miller starts on the back, and at 10:04 a.m., Jenson will start on the front and Tyler Stevens will start on the back. 

The state meet is next week in Dickinson.

KOVC-AM 1490 will air live reports from the East Region meet throughout the day Wednesday.  Golfing begins at 9:00 a.m.
