(NewsDakota.com) – A 40-year-old Jamestown woman was sentenced to five years with the Department of Corrections on Wednesday for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

Linda Gail Semones pleaded guilty to the Class A felony charge in Southeast District Court. It stems from a incident on Dec. 16, 2011. Semones also pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors. She was sentenced to one year on each of those charges. Her sentences will run concurrently.

Semones also is required to pay $1,025 in fees.

In an unrelated case, 46-year-old Scott Alan Vogel of Jamestown pleaded guilty to two Class C felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, and was sentenced Tuesday to two years with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. He will also pay $875 in fees.

The convictions stem from an incident on April 10, 2012, when Vogel was found in possession of Diazepam, also known as Valium, without a valid prescription. He also pleaded guilty to possession of Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone without a valid prescription.

Judge John Greenwood presided over both cases.
