CITY (Newsdakota.com)–The Hi-Liner softball team has made their way to the East Region semi-finals with a 5-1 win over Grand Forks Red River Thursday afternoon in West Fargo.

Keely Fogarty earned the win, striking out four and walking one in a complete game. Valley City scored five runs on eight hits.

The Hi-Liners face West Fargo, the winner of the last 15 state titles, today at 4:30 p.m. A win would qualify Valley City for the state tournament. A loss would force the Hi-Liners to win a qualifier tomorrow to move on.
