(NewsDakota.com) Those that use North Dakota Highway 46 to travel through the area are going to have to make a serious detour starting next month. The North Dakota Department Of Transportation is schedule to start work on the Sheyenne River Bridge along the highway located west of Enderlin on Monday June 4.

As a result, 19 miles of Highway 46, between State Highway 1 to the west and State Highway 32 to the east will be closed during the project. There will be four detours available based on direction. The Northeast detour will begin at the intersection of Highways 46 and 32, the Southeast detour starts at the intersection of Highways 32 and 27, the Northwest detour starts at the intersection of Highways 1 and 46, and the Southwest detour starts at the intersection of Highways 27 and 1.

The bridge will undergo a major overhaul; it will structurally rehabilitated, resurfaced, regraded and feature new guardrails.

The project is set to be finished by the end of August.
