CITY (NewsDakota.com) Valley City residents willing to sign a purchase agreement and accept the 110 percent assessed value of their property in the first flood buyout phase starts today.

Valley City Attorney Russ Myhre says city officials are to trying to get those signed purchase agreements into city hall or his office by June 4.

Myhre says eligible buyout residents in Valley City can contact is office at 845-1444 or city hall at 845-1700 to start the process.

Myhre says the city hopes to have the first phase completed by the end of August including those residents seeking the appraised value of their property option in the flood buyout area.
