ROCKFORD (NewsDakota.com)  In Region 3 High School Baseball action, Carrington defeated Sheyenne/New Rockford by a final score of 13-3 to advance to the State Tourney for the first time in the schools 9 year history of High School baseball.

Taylor Skytland went 1-2 with 2 walks and scoring 2 runs, Pete Henson went 2-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI.  Henson was also awarded Region 3 Senior Athlete of the Year.  Carrington improves to 18-3 with the win.

The Cardinals will play in the State Baseball Tournament Thursday, May 31st in Jamestown against the Beulah Minors at Jack Brown Stadium.  Approximate start time is 4:30p

Head coach Wayne Shipman of the Cardinals received Region 3 Coach of the Year as well.
