(NewsDakota.com) – The Buffalo City Tourism Foundation and the Frontier Village Association have officially reached a compromise in a funding dispute regarding the manager position of the Frontier Village Association.

The Jamestown City Council declined to intervene in the situation during a special city council meeting on Wednesday, and instead encouraged the FVA to accept a compromise offered by the Tourism Foundation.

On Thursday, the FVA accepted the compromise, which will fund the manager position for 18 weeks, retroactive to March 7 and until July 11. After that time, the FVA can request more grant funds for the Tourism Foundation to fund the manager position for the rest of the tourism season.

The Tourism Foundation had initially denied a grant request to fund the manager’s position after alleging many non-compliance issues with the FVA. The FVA says it is working to resolve those issues, and its progress will likely be looked at when they request more grant funds from the Tourism Foundation.

Both groups say they are committed to moving forward and improving communication between the two boards.
