(NewsDakota.com) The Oakes Public School Board held their regular monthly meeting last week.

Among the topics discussed by the board includes a federal government change to the way the school serves meals to students. Superintendent Art Conklin explains.

In other news, the board has hired a third kindergarten teacher as the total amount of kids in the program is expected to be more than 50; which in the opinion of the board is too much for two teachers.

The ground level cement of the new locker room project is not drying as fast as it should so the overall final completion of the project has been delayed.

The next meeting is June 5 at 8 p.m. Canvassing of the school board election will precede the meeting.
