Lee was born June 27, 1942, to Lawrence and Selma (Johnson) Lee.  He was raised on a farm 7 miles NW of Fingal, ND.  Curt graduated from College High School in Valley City, ND.          

On September 3, 1960, he married LaDonna Aman.  They made their home in Valley City until 1966 when they moved to Tower City, ND.  He worked at Tower Texaco, later Tower Truck Stop.  While living in Tower City, he served as mayor, fire chief, and school board president, and was very active in community projects.           

In 1983, they moved to Carrington, ND where he managed the OK Tire Store.  Curt semi retired in 2007 after being diagnosed with prostate cancer.  He fully retired on December 31, 2011.           

Curtis died at his home in Jamestown on May 12, 2012, while surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Maxine and Sylvia; a brother, David; an infant daughter, Linda; a son, Steven; and a son-in-law, Kim McInnes.           

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, LaDonna; a daughter, Dianne (Don) Bear of Jamestown; 5 grandchildren, Chanteal Lee of Honolulu, Hawaii, Marquee Lee of LaQuinta, CA, Hannah McInnes attending Lake Region in Devils Lake, ND, Adrian McInnes attending NDSU in Fargo, ND, and Alex McInnes of Jamestown; 5 step grandchildren, Nick Sirabella, Curtis (Jill) Bear, Andy (Jamie) Bear and their children, Kora & Max, Dona Jean (Richard) Schock and their children, Bailey & Brianna, and Joe (Lenae) Bear and their daughter, Jacie.           

A memorial service for Curtis Lee, 69, Jamestown, ND, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown.  Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Valley City, ND.

A gathering time will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., Friday at the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City.
