CITY (NewsDakota.com) Valley City High School Alternative Teacher Carmelle Kuehn (Keen) was named teacher of the year during the annual All-Staff Social & Recognition awards ceremony Wednesday night.

And Vietnam Veteran Dean Pedersen received the Valley City Public Schools Education Association Friend of Education award during the recognition social. Pedersen has worked to educate Valley City students about his experiences and the history of the Vietnam War.

Valley City Public Schools Superintendent Dean Koppleman says the school years wraps-up on May 24 with graduation set for 2:30pm on May 27.
