(NewsDakota.com) With the honor of being named to the North Dakota Governor’s Band, and all her students in the concert band making it to state last week, Sue German is sure going out on top.

The instrumental music advisor at Oakes High School leader of Oakes’ pep band, jazz band, marching band, and concert band is putting the baton aside after 15 years when the school year ends in a few weeks. Thursday night will be the final time she conducts a concert as the department presents it’s annual spring concert “A Night Full Of JOY” in the Oakes High School South Gym at 7 p.m.

Oakes School Superintendent Art Conklin says German left an indefinite mark on the music department and the community at large.

Along with her teaching duties, German has also been a part of the Guelph Community Band, member of the Guelph Community Development Association, Country Rose FCE Club, Active Arts Club, Inc. and the director of the Grace Lutheran Senior Church Choir.

A free-will offering will be collected at the door.
