E. Olson, 89, of Oakes, ND, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at the Oakes Community Hospital.

Clyde Eugene was born July 22, 1922 in Glover, North Dakota to Edwin and Alice (Grosshans) Olson. He grew up on the family farm, working with his father and brothers until 1940, when he moved to California and worked for Douglas Aircraft for three years. In 1943, Clyde entered the Air Force. He moved back to the family farm in 1946, and continued farming with his brother, Robert until 1990. Clyde was united in marriage to Alice Hansen on December 31, 1969. He was a member of the Oakes United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Alice; a step-daughter, Judith (Sherman) Ramusson, LaMoure, ND; and his brother, Robert (June) Olson, Oakes, ND. Clyde is also survived by three step-grandchildren, Zachary, Mariah, and Christopher; three nieces and one nephew, Jeanne (Richard) Charlebois, Douglas (Marcia) Olson, Mary (David) MacKenzie, and Jolene Nielsen; and five step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Willard Olson, and one sister, Ina Lundh.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Oakes United Methodist Church with the funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Glover Cemetery.
