CITY (NewsDakota.com) An event to raise awareness for Autism is try to set a Guinness Book of World Record Thursday at Jefferson elementary school in Valley City

Event coordinator Jennifer Cabezas of Valley City who has two Autistic twin boys said there is a lot about the neurological disorder that many people don’t understand.

Cabezas said some 200 Jefferson students will use bubble soap and bubble wands to help set a World record for blowing bubbles to raise awareness for the disorder that effects some 1.5 million Americans. She said in order to set the record some 35,000 people across the nation will blow bubbles at 12:15pm central time on Thursday.

Autism is growing at an alarming rate of 10 to 17 percent each year according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
