(NewsDakota.com)- For a couple weeks now the Jimmie baseball and softball teams knew they would be playing in their respective A.I.I. Tournaments, they just didn’t know who the opponent would be. However, they do now after the pairings were released yesterday.
The baseball teams locked up the No. 2 seed and will battle Arizona Christian in the opening round of the tournament on May 2nd. The tournament host Cal State-San Marcos is the top-seed.
First pitch will be an early one for the Jimmies, at 9am CT.
The softball team will enter the tournament as the No. 4 seed. Their first round adversary will be Dickinson St. The Jimmies have played the Bluehawks 5 times this year and own a 3-2 advantage in the series.
The top two seeds in the softball tournament received byes. The tournament will be held in Columbus, GA and will begin May 3rd.
Both Jamestown College teams won the DAC regular season title. The baseball team holds a record of 28-14-1. The DAC tournament opens on Thursday and the Jimmies will play Mayville in the first round of the round-robin play.
The softball team is currently 24-17, they will play Mayville tonight and in Sioux City, IA against Briar Cliff on Thursday.
