(NewsDakota.com)- The Dickinson State Bluehawks were in town for a weekend set of four games. The Jimmies and Hawks split the series 2-2, but Jamestown College was still able to lock up the DAC Title.
During the first game on Saturday, Jimmie starter Paul Roers flirted with a no-hitter. He retired the first 10 batters before issuing his first walk. Roers took the no-hit bid into the 7th with two outs, before Zach Griffith unloaded on a 3-run shot. It was the only hit of the day. Jimmies won the game 12-3.
Jamestown College dropped the middle two games of the series in a pair of one-run games. Losing 7-6 and 6-5 (8 innings).
The bats came alive again in Game 4. The Jimmies scored 11 times and Derek Wallace drove in four runs, including a 2-run homer in the 4th. Wes Hardy went six innings giving up three runs for the win.
The Jimmies locked up the DAC Regular season, finishing 8-2 in the conference. Jamestown College’s next game will be Thursday at the DAC Tournament in Mayville.
