(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School Board approved raises Monday night for administrators and non-teaching professionals.
Fourteen administrators will receive a 5 percent raise, and nine non-teaching professionals will receive a 6 percent raise. The raises are budgeted for and go into effect for the 2012-13 school year.
The School Board had tabled the raises at its last meeting after a split vote. On Monday, the raise for administrators passed by a 6-3 vote and the raise for non-teaching professionals passed 7-2.
Some of the discussion Monday night focused on the fact that the school district is projecting a large budget deficit in the future.
Also Monday, the school board approved the hiring of Peg Wagner as Gussner Elementary Principal next year. Wagner is currently elementary principal in Killdeer, N.D. Wagner was recommended for the job by a search committee.
