Miller, 68, of Oakes, North Dakota, passed away April 16, 2012, at home.
Crystal Victoria was born January 5, 1944 at Oakes, North Dakota to Clifford and Daisy (Andersen) Sanders. She grew up and attended school in Oakes, graduating from Oakes High School in 1962. Crystal married Jim Olson on June 14, 1964. They made their home in Ellendale until 1966, when they moved to Casselton, North Dakota. To this union two daughters were born, Beth and Sara. In 1976, Crystal moved to Oakes. She married Orland Miller in 1978 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. He passed away in 1983. Over the years, Crystal was employed at the Cabin, Clines Café Guest House, Kelsen’s Bakery, and Oakes Food Center. Crystal was a life long member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed, and church organist for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Beth (Jim) Bopp and Sara (Robert) Zantow; three granddaughters, Maddie Bopp, Josie Bopp, and Hannah Zantow; and one grandson, Jed Bopp, all of Oakes; two sisters, Mary Lou (Willie) Mangnall, Chandler, AZ, and Sandra (Nick) Uerling, Oakes; nephews, Terry (Julie) Mangnall, Oakes and Jeff (Rita) Miller, Minot, ND; and nieces, Cari (Wayne) Haugen, Oakes, Jeanne (Chuck) Messmer, Richardton, ND, and Dona Molet, Mesa, AZ. Crystal was preceded in death by her parents, and Jim and Orland.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Oakes, ND, followed by the burial at Oakes View Cemetery.
