CITY (NewsDakota.com) Police arrested a high-risk sex offender for giving false information to police this week about where he lives in Valley City.

Acting Police Chief Mark McDonald told newsdakota.com that 34-year-old Allan Joseph Cook registered with the city that he was living at 1019 5th avenue northwest #4 in Valley City. McDonald said, police learned Thursday that information was false and Cook was arrested and now faces a charge of failure to register as a sex offender, a Class “C” felony.

Cook was convicted in February of 2002 of two Class “C” felony counts of Sexual Assault. The incidents involved two 15-year-old girls, in separate incidents. Cook is rated as a high-risk offender, according to the North Dakota Attorney General’s website.
