(NewsDakota.com) So far this season, the Kindred Vikings have not missed a beat against their Region I opponents as they work their way towards defending their Class B State Baseball Championship. After winning on a two run walk off home run against Central Cass on Tuesday, the Vikings improved to 2-0 in Region I play after an 8-0 rout of LaMoure-Litchville Marion in Kindred on Thursday afternoon.
Sean Cose, who sent the Loboes home last year during the regional tournament, was able to throw a complete game shutout this time around, including retiring the Loboe lineup the first time through, and striking out the first five batters he faced. Cose only allowed two hits; and walked only two.
For the Loboes who have fallen to 0-2 in regional play, Tanner Carlson took the loss on the mound; going five innings, allowing eight hits and striking out only two batters.
The Loboes next play Hankinson-Fairmont, the newest team in Region I at Townsend Field in LaMoure on Friday. Coverage on Q101.1 FM and NewsDakota.com starting at 4:45 with first pitch of the Loboe home opener at 5 p.m.
