LAKE, N.D. (AP) – Devils Lake police are calling the deaths of two women suspicious and are continuing to investigate.

The Devils Lake Journal reports paramedics were called to the apartment along Walnut Street at about 11 a.m. Tuesday to report a woman was not breathing. When paramedics arrived, they found the 56-year-old woman was dead. They also found another 52-year-old woman who was unresponsive. She was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.

Two other people were in the apartment at the time of the 911 call.

Police Detective Sue Schwab says there were no signs of foul play. Medication was found at scene.

Autopsies are scheduled for the two women, whose names have not been released.
