(NewsDakota.com)-Jimmie baseball coach Tom Hager got his 400th career victory yesterday as his team took down Northern State in 12 innings, 7-6. Hager has coached the Jimmies for the last 13 years compiling a record of 400-198-3 and five NAIA National Tournament appearances.

The Jimmies played in Aberdeen yesterday after their games scheduled against Concordia-Morehead were canceled on Tuesday due to the weather.

Jamestown College struck first in the second inning with a four-run burst. They picked up the four runs on three hits and one error. Two RBI singles for the Jimmies, a sacrifice fly from Spencer Flaten, and a scored once on the error.

The Wolves picked up a pair of runs in both the 7th and 8th innings to tie the game at six and force extras.

With two down in the 12th, the Jimmies picked up two runs thanks in part to an error and balk committed by Northern State’s Zach Miller. The Wolves added one in the home half of the inning, but Chris Combo was able to shut the door.

Combo worked the final three innings in relief for the win, giving up the one run on three hits.

Jamestown will be back in action on Saturday in Valley City at the DAC Preseason Tournament.
