(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Engineer’s Office says a block of First Avenue North will closed early next week to facilitate demolition of a building destroyed in a Feb. 17 fire.

First Avenue North will be closed in the 300 block between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday, and possibly Tuesday. Crews will be working to clean up the Vining Oil storage building destroyed in the Feb. 17 downtown fire in Jamestown.

The road had been open to just one-way traffic up until Monday, when it was opened to two-way traffic for the first time since Feb. 17. Trucks are still being advised to use an alternate route, and all motorists should use alternate routes on Monday and Tuesday.
