CITY (NewsDakota.com) Griggs County officials have pulled their support in a proposed reservoir project east of Cooperstown being studied by the Upper Sheyenne River Joint Water Resource Board.
Valley City Mayor Bob Werkhoven says the proposed reservoir project would have stored 6 times the amount of water compared to Lake Ashtabula.
The proposed reservoir along the Sheyenne River would be north of Highway 200 east of Cooperstown.
Werkhoven and city administrator David Schelkoph were in Carrington today attending an Upper Sheyenne River board meeting to discuss the reservoir proposal and Devils Lake outlet issues.
