(NewsDakota.com) Despite the warm temperatures that have allowed many area golf courses to open their seasons well ahead of schedule, the Oakes Golf Course still has a long way to go until golfers can hit the links.

The course was inundated with water last year due to spring flooding, and as a result was never open in the 2011 season. Work started on construction of a dike system back in the third quarter of the year.

The view from the tee box on Hole #1 at the Oakes Golf Course shows the dike structure is up, however a great deal of work needs to be done.
