(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown College women’s basketball team lost 80-58 to two-time defending national champion Northwestern (Iowa) in the second round of the NAIA National Tournament on Friday morning in Sioux City, Iowa.
Jamestown finishes its season with a 27-5 record after winning its first round game at the national tournament on Wednesday.
In Friday’s loss, the Jimmies shot just 24.6 percent from the floor, including a 6-for-28 performance from behind the 3-point line.
Northwestern blistered the nets with a 28-for-57 shooting performance en route to the big victory. Kami Kuhlmann went off for 31 points to lead Northwestern, making 12 of her 21 shot attempts.
Amber Ramlo and Kellie Schuneman each scored 10 points to lead Jamestown in the loss. The Jimmies led early in the game, but Northwestern used a big run late in the first half to take a 35-27 lead into the break.
Jamestown’s win at the national tournament on Wednesday was just their second win in school history at the national tournament.
