(NewsDakota.com) – A Thursday morning accident involving two semis caused more than a half million dollars worth of damage on Interstate 94.
A semi hauling an Ag sprayer and a semi auto transport were involved in the accident about seven miles west of Valley City.
According to a release from North Dakota Highway Patrol sergeant Tom Herzig, the auto transport was disabled on the westbound shoulder due to a flat tire. The semi hauling a 12 foot, 6 inch wide John Deere Ag sprayer was westbound when the right side of the sprayer stuck the side of the parked auto transport trailer about 7:25 a.m.
The Ag sprayer suffered about $250,000 worth of damage, while the auto transport had about $400,000 worth of damage to the truck, trailer and vehicles being hauled.
No one was injured in the crash. The highway patrol says Darren McKibben of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, was hauling the Ag sprayer and was adjusting a glaring sunrise from his outside rear view mirror at the time of the accident.
Aleksey Demko and Stepan Kopets, both of Spokane, Wash., were resting in the sleeper of the auto transport truck at the time of the accident.
