CITY, IA (NewsDakota.com)–Jamestown College will face two-time defending national champion Northwestern, IA in the round of 16 at the NAIA Division II national womens basketball tournament in Sioux City, IA Friday.
After the Jimmies defeated Union, KY 60-42 to open the tournament, the Red Raiders defeated Indiana-Southeast 76-56 in game two of the tourney, opening defense of their fourth overall national title after winning the tournament in each of the last two seasons.
Kendra De Jong (Jr., Hospers, IA) led four Red Raiders in double figures with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Alli Dunkelberger (So, Waconia, MN) and Mallory Cunard (Jr., Missouri Valley, IA) each added 11. Northwestern shot 50% from the floor, and won despite committing 24 turnovers.
