MO (NewsDakota.com)- After a few days in Branson, tomorrow is finally the day the Jamestown College men’s basketball team will play their first round game in the NAIA DII National Tournament.
The Jimmies opponent, St Francis (IN), has a whole lot of tournament experience. The last two trips to Branson have been very successful for the Cougars. In 2010, they were crowned National Champions. Last season, they reached they title game again before falling to Cornerstone (MI).
Senior Q Owens leads St. Francis with just over 20 points per contest. They lost in the Mid-Central College Conference championship to Grace College, 79-75.
St. Francis had lost three of their final four regular season games, before winning two games to reach the MCCC Title Game.
If the Jimmies are able to get by the Cougars they will play the winner of Daemen (NY) and Bellevue (NE) who will play at 8:30 on Thursday morning.
Thursday’s game for Jamestown College is slated to start at 10:15 which means the pregame show on KQDJ-AM 1400/97.1 FM will start around 10am.
