(NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown City Council on Monday gave final approval to permits needed for Jamestown’s annual Running O’ the Green on Saturday, March 17.
The council approved permits to allow alcoholic beverages in fenced areas on March 17 for several Jamestown bars. The council also finalized a plan to close 2nd Street East in the 100 block on March 17 to allow vendors to locate there during the Running of the Green. Vendors must apply for a one-day permit, which requires a fee of $50.
The 34th annual Running O’ the Green pub crawl is set for St. Patrick’s Day this year. It draws thousands of participants who make the ‘run’ to several participating bars in Jamestown. This year’s event will donate money to Camp Grassick, which is about 50 miles west of Jamestown and holds several camping sessions each summer for children and adults with various disabilities and special needs.
