N.D. (AP) – North Dakota lawmakers today will quiz
Dickinson State University officials about an audit showing the
school gave hundreds of degrees to Chinese students who didn’t earn
them. According to the audit, hundreds of students got bachelor’s
degrees from Dickinson without having proof they’d taken the
required courses.     
  
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – More bogus bills are showing up in
Bismarck. Police say a series of counterfeit $100 bills have turned
up. The Bank of North Dakota reported six last week and four were
passed at businesses two weeks ago.     
   
BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. (AP) – A major highway in northwest South
Dakota is feeling the impact of the western oil North Dakota oil
boom. Transportation officials say traffic on U.S. Highway 85
increased by one-third in January. Officials say it’s led to more
crashes, speeding tickets and drunken driving arrests.
     
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – Defending state champion North Star
plays Shiloh Christian of Bismarck in the Class B boys basketball
semifinals today in Grand Forks. The other semifinal pits Berthold
against Beulah.
