CITY (NewsDakota.com)–In the final week of regular season basketball, the Vikings mens and womens teams hauled in some awards.
Viking womens basketball player Brittany Lehner (So., Watertown, SD) was named the Association of Independent Institutions (AII) Player of the Week for the final week of the season.
Lehner was voted the top player in the AII tournament in Madison, SD. She averaged 15 points per game over three games, leading the Viking women to their second straight NAIA Divison II national tournament appearance.
Lehner went on to receive honorable mention honors for the AII All-Conference awards. Katie Ralston (Jr., Dahlen, ND) was named second-team all conference. Ralston averaged 10 points and 3.7 rebounds a game throughout the season.
On the mens side, Sekani Milligan (Jr., Fort Lauderdale, FL) was named to the AII First-Team All Conference team. He averaged 18.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game this season.
John Raquel (Jr., Hawthorne, CA) and Aaron Duske (So., Buffalo, MN) were named honorable mentions.
