(NewsDakota.com)- Bridget Schuneman and Travis Burley were named the Dakota Athletic Conference Most Valuable Players for their respective conference.
Bridget Schuneman and the Jimmies finished the season 26-4, after falling to Valley City St. in the National qualifier game on Saturday. They will find out tomorrow if they will be making the trip to Sioux City, IA to play in the NAIA National Tournament.
Schuneman lead Jamestown College in scoring with 13.2 points per game and also pulled down an average of 6.4 rebounds.
Travis Burley was the leading vote getter on the men’s side of the DAC. He averaged 15.5 ppg and pulled down a team-high 7.7 rebounds per contest.
The Jimmie men finished the season 24-6 and will play next week in Branson, MO in the NAIA National Tournament. Times and opponent will be announced tomorrow night.
Both Jamestown College coaches, Matt Murken and Greg Ulland were named DAC Coach of the Year. Each in their second season have complied very impressive records.
Jimmie Forward Brandon Robbins was named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year.
