Leyendecker, 88, of Jamestown, ND, formerly of Marion, ND, died Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Jamestown.
Celine Brisse was born on April 9, 1923, in Richmond, MN, the daughter of John and Mary (Meyer) Brisse. She attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic School and Eden Valley High School, graduating in 1941. Celine worked in Minneapolis at the University of Minnesota and, during WWII, she worked at a defense plant operating a drill press. Celine married Clarence Leyendecker on June 26, 1945 in Richmond, MN. They made their home on a farm near Marion, ND for many years. Clarence died on September 19, 1988 and Celine moved to Jamestown in 1989.
She volunteered at the Jamestown Hospital Gift Shop and was a member of the Jamestown Hospital Auxiliary and St. James Basilica where she was active with the Tabernacle Society – Immaculate Conception.
Celine is survived by her son, Calvin (Linda) Leyendecker, Marion; a daughter, Cheryl Leyendecker, Wing, ND; a grandson, Darrin Leyendecker; a brother, Lou (Dorothy) Brisse, Richmond, MN; and two sisters, Viola C. Duncan, Minneapolis, MN and Lillian (Norb) Weirens, Sartell, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Mel.
Eucharist of Christian Burial: – 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown.
Visitation – 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Prayer Service 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, with a Rosary beginning at 6:45 p.m.
Interment – Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
