CITY (NewsDakota.com)–The Viking women played another overtime game Sunday, and were tipped by Cal State-San Marcos for the Association of Independent Institiutions (AII) title 54-52 in Madison, SD.
The Vikings overcame a nine-point halftime deficit to tie at the end of regulation, but were outscored 7-5 in the extra five minutes.
Brittany Lehner (So., Watertown, SD) led the Vikings for the second straight night, tossing in 15 points. Courtney Titus (Jr., Hankinson, ND) scored 13, and Sierra Even (Fr., Windom, MN) knocked in 10.
The Vikings will advance to the national tournament next week. Tournament selection is scheduled for Wednesday this week.
