(NewsDakota.com) A Fargo couple was seriously injured in a crash on Interstate 94 after the driver lost control of his vehicle traveling east, went into the median and struck a semi tractor trailer in the west bound lane Sunday afternoon.

The Highway Patrol says the driver 29-year-old Chris Schmit and his passenger Mikki Schmit was transported to the Jamestown Hospital and airlifted to a Fargo Hospital for treatment. No word on the condition of the Fargo couple.

The patrol says the 42-year-old driver of the semi was not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
