(NewsDakota.com) – It was all Fargo North in non-conference boys hockey Tuesday night at the Fargo Coliseum as the Spartans picked up a 9-1 victory over Jamestown.

North led 3-0 after one, thanks to a short-handed goal, a power play goal and an even strength goal. The Jays got on the board in the second period when senior Marcus Beedle scored a power play goal, his first goal of the season.

North out-shot Jamestown 42-25. Blue Jay junior goalie Ben Walz finished with 33 saves. The Jays slip to 4-10-1, and the Spartans improve to 11-4.

“Bottom line, we didn’t have the pace we needed to start the game. The slow start hurt us,” head coach Matt Stockert said. “We are hoping these non-conference games against good teams will help us in the end.”

Next up for the Jays is another non-conference game on Thursday, with a trip to West Fargo.
