(NewsDakota.com) – Stutsman County residents will have an opportunity to learn first-hand about county and township roads during the Stutsman County Roads Task Force meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at Shady’s in Jamestown.
The task force was formed by the Jamestown Chamber of Commerce.
Jamestown Chamber executive director Kimberly Saxberg said the purpose of the task force is to work with public officials to educate and provide factual information to the public regarding county and township roads.
“We sent out a survey to our membership, asking them some of their thoughts regarding Stutsman County and township roads,” said Saxberg. “We got quite a response to that, and more than not, a lot of question involved with Stutsman County roads and issues and taxes and things of that nature. So the board of directors reviewed that information and decided to form a task force to educate the public regarding Stutsman County and township roads.”
Saxberg said she expects quite a few people to attend the informational event, which will feature public officials. Steve Thompson of Interstate Engineering, Stutsman County chief operating officer Casey Bradley, and county commissioners Dale Marks and David Schwartz are all scheduled to speak or participate in Monday’s meeting.
The task force plans to have multiple meetings over the next 12 months.
